Raise Money For Poverty

Raising money for poverty is one way to improve people's lives, one step at a time.

Raising money to fight poverty is a necessary and proactive way to improve the lives of those who don't have as much as the rest of society. Anyone can throw a slogan and sticker on a mason jar, go door to door and ask for money for poverty, but people are more likely to donate to a well thought out effort that plays to certain parts of a person's life. Many different ways exist to do this, but some general guidelines must be followed in order to do it well.

Instructions

1. Find a good cause to support. Many organizations have huge initiatives in motion to fight poverty, but they need people like you to keep the wheels in motion. Put your money or effort into an organization you feel passionate about because they are better equipped to directly handle distribution of funds than you are.

2. Learn everything there is to know about the organization, its niche and statistics about the people they help. Prepare yourself to field any questions that prospective supporters might ask.

3. Launch an online fund-raising page (See Resource 1), which is a valuable and necessary part of raising money for poverty. Make the giving process easy on your supporters through an aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-navigate fund-raising page with options for giving, whether mailing a check, using a credit or debit card online, or paying with their Paypal account.

4. Add an interesting twist to your fund-raising campaign, whether running a mile for every $5 donated or participating in an annual half-marathon or charity fun run. Give people the impression that you are willing to work to raise this money.

5. Send a mass email to friends and family that informs them about your effort, your campaign twist and deadlines for giving. Include links to your fund-raising page and your mailing address (in case they want to send checks), as well as every ounce of information about the organization.

6. Open a savings account or send it directly to the organization as money starts coming in. Keep your money safe and out of your sight, as any amount of money sitting around the house can be tempting.

7. Send thank you notes or emails to your supporters when the campaign is finished. Update them about reaching goals, who they helped and recent news about the organization. Let them know they made a difference in someone's life.
