Mix Whey

A whey protein drink is a finish to your workout.

Whey is commonly taken as a protein supplement to help build lean muscle. It is most effective if taken up to one hour after working out because at this point, your muscles are recovering from the workout and need nutrients. The body also uses carbohydrates more productively after you exercise, so milk or fruit juice -- both excellent sources of carbohydrates -- are good choices to mix with the whey powder. The easiest way to mix whey is with a liquid, but you may also add whey to a smoothie or mix it with solids.

Instructions

1. Milk is protein-filled option to mix with whey powder.

Pour 8 ounces of milk into a glass. You may substitute the milk with water or fruit juice.

2. A scoop is provided inside the container.

Add one to two scoops of whey powder to the milk or fruit juice (the scoop is provided inside the container). Check the label on your whey container for serving instructions, as it may differ from brand to brand.

3. Mix whey with a fork to help smooth out the lumps.

Blend the milk or fruit juice and whey together, stirring briskly with a fork for 30 seconds. The fork's prongs will fold the whey evenly with the milk or fruit juice, eliminating lumps. To guarantee a lump-free drink, use a blender and mix the milk and powder for 10 seconds.

4. Scrape bits of whey from the sides of the glass and incorporate them into the mixture.
