Tell everyone you know about the trip you want to make. Encourage them to help you pay for it by taking part in one or more of your online ventures to make money. Selling some of your accumulated belongings and working a few online freelance jobs can make a big dent in the price tag of your trip.
Instructions
1. Open a PayPal account that friends and family can send money to in order to help finance your trip. In order to send money to your account, they need a PayPal account.
Visit PayPal's website and click "Sign up" at the top of the screen. Choose to open a personal account. Fill in the rest of the information required in the form on the next page, such as your name, address and email address. You will also need to link the PayPal account to your bank account to withdraw the money for your trip.
Tell people the email address you used to open your PayPal account. This is the account name to which people will send money via PayPal. Those sending you money can open their PayPal accounts, click "Send Money" from their account homepage, click "Personal" and follow the instructions to send money to you.
2. Sell something online. Gather anything in your house you do not need that will fetch a price on an online auction site or online classifieds. Items you could sell need to be in at least fairly good condition. Some to consider selling are appliances, furniture, nice clothes, shoes and accessories, baby and children's items, computers, electronics, books and CDs and DVDs in good condition. Sell them on Craigslist, eBay, or Kijiji, eBay's local classifieds site.
3. Sell crafts you make online. Greeting cards, clothes, jewelry, purses, blankets are some ideas of items to create and sell. Share pictures of them on a site like Etsy.com and with your friends via email or social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
4. Get a freelancing job online. Sell your talents on sites such as ELance and ODesk. Freelance jobs in everything from transcription to graphic and web design are available. Be aware that you may need to bid low on jobs to get started. You can increase your prices over time as you gain a reputation for doing good work.
Check work-at-home websites and forums such as Work at Home Mom to get leads on freelancing jobs as well. These sites also post work-at-home jobs and freelancing opportunities.
