Your iPod can be used with an electronic sound mixing board.
The iPod has had a profound impact on the music industry, as evidenced by the over 22-million units sold in the first quarter of 2009 alone. This tremendous effect is not reflected in sales alone, as the way people think about music has also been changed. A powerful benefit of the iPod is that it can be plugged into sound mixer boards, making the large music libraries it holds easily manipulated for events where a more sophisticated sound system is used.
Instructions
1. Turn on your iPod and set the volume level to about 70 percent of the maximum.
2. Plug the mini-stereo end of the cable into the headphone jack of your iPod.
3. Plug the dual RCA ends of the cable into the RCA input jacks of the mixer board. These are often labeled as "AUX" or "Auxiliary." The board will usually have several sets of these jacks.
4. Power on the mixing board. Lower the volume controls of those input jacks to about 50 percent of their maximum.
5. Begin playing one of the songs from your iPod as a test. Adjust volumes on the iPod and mixing board until you get a sound and volume that you prefer.
