Plan A Trip To Key West

Key West is the southernmost city in the continental United States, just 90 miles from Cuba. Its beauty, people and atmosphere are like nowhere else. Planning a trip to Key West requires little effort and can be handled completely on the Internet.

Instructions

1. Decide how you will get to Key West. Flights to Key West are limited to small aircraft only. If you plan to fly, you will have to arrange one flight into a larger airport on the mainland and another flight into Key West. If you're driving, US 1 goes all the way into the heart of the island.

2. Determine your budget for your trip. Key West, like any tourism driven destination, can be a little expensive. The rates for everything but food and drink can be found on the Internet, so do your research.

3. Choose where you'll stay in Key West. While there are your run of the mill motels and expensive resorts on the island, one of the most interesting ways to stay is to rent a home. These can be a little pricey, but are definitely worth the money.

4. Plan an itinerary. There are several excellent websites that outline the many points of interest on Key West. Plan out which ones to see and which ones to pass up. The Hemingway House, Duval Street and the Southernmost Point are all worth a look. Links to a few websites can be found in the Resources section.

5. Leave for paradise. Key West is full of interesting people and places, colorful locals and vast natural beauty. Enjoy it.
