Make Your Own Numbered Raffle Tickets

Organizations such as athletic teams or charitable or nonprofit groups use a variety of fundraising techniques to support their efforts. One easy, inexpensive way to raise money for an organization is to host a raffle. Gather prizes or just use a portion of the money raised selling tickets to fund the winnings. The supplies needed to make the raffle tickets are inexpensive as well. You probably already have most at home or in your office.

Instructions

1. Download the raffle ticket template that you wish to use.

2. Double click the file in the dialog box that pops up once it is done downloading.

3. Double click the file again once another dialog box pops up showing you where the file is located. Select where you would like to save the template file once it is extracted, then click "Extract." Select "Save" when prompted by the computer to save the extracted file. Saving to the desktop will make it to easy to find later.

4. Open the template from its saved location by double clicking the file name. The file will open in Microsoft Word.

5. Edit the text fields on the raffle tickets to reflect the pertinent information for the raffle you will be hosting, using the text already shown on the tickets as a guide. Click CTRL+F to open the Find/Replace menu. Click on the "Replace" tab. Type in the text you want to find in the first box. For example, if you want to fill in the first prize for your raffle, type "TV" into the find box, because that is what appears as the first prize on the template. Type in the actual first-place prize, such as $100, into the second box as the replacement text. Click "Replace All" to make all the substitutions on the tickets. Repeat this step to replace the text for each necessary field.

6. Change the numbers on the raffle tickets if you are printing more than one sheet of raffle tickets, which usually contains between six to 10 raffle tickets, so that you aren't duplicating raffle tickets. Keep the numbers in sequential order to keep track of how many tickets have been sold.

7. Print the tickets out on card stock or the Avery raffle ticket product recommended for the template you used. Cut or tear the individual raffle tickets out. Cut or tear the stub off the tickets after they are sold and the customer fills out his or her personal information on the stub, if applicable.
