Snowboarding can often prove to be an expensive hobby that needs many accessories. Parents of young snowboarders often find themselves having to outfit their growing children each season. Making snowboarding pants of your own is a simple project that can save a bit of money and reduce your snowboarding budget. Keep yourself or your loved one warm all winter with a pair of homemade snowboarding pants.
Instructions
1. Choose the correct size pattern, then cut both fabrics to fit the pattern
2. Sew the side seams and crotch seams in each pair of pants. For the water resistant pants, use a 3/8-inch seam. Use a 5/8-inch seam for the fleece pants.
3. Insert the fleece pants into the water resistant pair with the seams together.
4. Use the zig-zag setting to sew together the layers of pants at both the bottom of the legs and the waist.
5. Measure the waist and leg openings to determine the amount of elastic needed. Add 1 inch to the measurement.
6. Cut the elastic for the leg holes and waist. Sew the bands together using a 1/2-inch seam.
7. Insert the elastic in the spaces made for the elastic in accordance with the pattern at both the waist and the legs. Baste the seam edge of the bands.
8. Close the seam allowances with a zig-zag stitch
9. Press the seam allowances, then top stitch them to the pants.
