Repair A Oakley Half Jacket Earsock

Learn fix your earsock for your pair of Oakleys.

Sunglasses manufacturer Oakley makes many types of sunglasses that are optimal to wear while engaged in a variety of sporting activities. However, the hard plastic arms of the frame can sometimes slip or feel uncomfortable to the wearer. To combat this, Oakley has developed something called an "earsock," which slips over the arm of the frame. Fixing the earsock is quite simple if it tears, as long as you follow the steps outlined in this article. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Gently remove the earsock from the arm of the Oakley frame, by holding the frame with one hand and sliding it off with the other. The earsock can tear or rip after a great deal of use.

2. Apply super glue to the earsock. Rest the earsock on a paper towel and gently fill in the torn area of the earsock with super glue. Squeeze the torn pieces of the earsock together gently so that a bond is formed. Hold it in this position for a minute.

3. Allow the glue to dry for 10 to 15 minutes. This will ensure a strong bond between the super glue and earsock.

4. Slide the earsock back onto the arm of the frame. Remember to handle this gently, because even though it is super glued, it was initially torn.
