Program A Device To Interact With A Garage Door Opener

You can program different remotes to open your garage door.

No longer are garage door openers just programmed by specific opener remotes that come with your motor unit. Car onboard systems and various other devices have added transmitter technology that allows you to program a button to open your garage door. You can program these devices to your garage door opener in just seconds using a simple coding process. This process requires only your garage remote and access to the motor unit within the garage. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Grab the device that you wish to program to your garage door motor unit and press the "smart" button on the motor opener. This button is located on the side of the motor unit by the antenna wire. The unit's indicator light will start flashing for 30 seconds.

2. Press and release the button on your device three times in a row and wait for the motor unit light to blink and then continue flashing.

3. Wait until the light stops flashing after 30 seconds and press the button that you just programmed on your device again to test it.
