Recreate Kate Hudson'S Eye Makeup From "Bride Wars"

Recreate Kate Hudson's Eye Make-up from "Bride Wars"

Kate Hudson is an American actress best known for her role as Penny in "Almost Famous." In "Bride Wars," she wears a purple smokey eye, with black eye liner for definition. The eye look is from the wedding scene in the film, where Kate's makeup is most dramatic. A smokey eye is the result of a dark color adding definition to a lighter color. This look is suitable for day or evening, due to the versatility of the lavender coloring. Any skin tone can wear this look, as well as any dark eye color. Hair can be worn up or down for this look. A nude or pink lip is recommended, since anything bolder will clash with the eye colors. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Pat an eye primer onto your eyelids with your fingers. An eye primer is a creamy balm that prevents eye shadow from creasing or cracking during wear.

2. Pat a white-cream eye shadow onto the eyelid with your finger. Make sure the white does not extend past the crease of your eyelid.

3. Use a shadow brush to sweep a lilac-colored eye shadow on top of the white-cream shadow on the eyelid.

4. Apply a dark-purple eye shadow into the outer corner of the eye with a blending brush and blend inwards toward the crease.

5. Line the lower lash line with a black eye shadow using a liner brush.

6. Line the outer corner of the eye with a black eye liner and use a liner brush to gently smudge the color inward along the lower lash line until it reaches the pupil (halfway along the lower lash line).

7. Line the inner third of the upper lash line with a cream-colored eye liner.

8. Apply mascara to upper lashes only in order to complete the look.
