Move From Boston Massachusetts To Miami Florida

Plan ahead before picking up and moving to Miami.

Moving from Boston to Miami is a big step in your life. Whether it be for business or leisure, the two cities are nearly polar opposite of each other. Boston is a historical city with harsh winters while Miami is along the beach with hot summers. Miami is a more laid back lifestyle than Boston and has a variety of opportunities that aren't available in Boston. Before moving day, lighten your load by donating items to charity so you have less to move. Plan ahead so the move is completed with ease.

Instructions

1. Choose the route you plan to take when driving from Boston to Miami. This is especially important if you are traveling with a moving truck or trailer. There are 1,500 miles between the two cities, and the most direct route is I-95 South to Florida's Turnpike. Use major highways between the two cities if you prefer it over the freeway driving.

2. Prepare for a different climate. In Miami the summers are hot and humid while winters are still warm. If you plan to visit Boston, don't ditch all the sweaters and jackets, but instead cut back because you will not need them in Miami. It's also important to invest in flood insurance for spring months when monsoons are common. Make sure your belongings are protected.

3. Choose a neighborhood in which you wish to live. Miami is divided into boroughs that differ from section to section. For example, downtown is the business center of the city as well as the historic center. Families may wish to live in Buena Vista where it is mostly residential homes. Creative types may wish to live in the Wynwood art district.
