Reapply For Food Stamps Online In Florida

Recertify to continue receiving Florida food stamps benefits.

In the state of Florida, the food stamp program is designed to provide temporary food assistance for needy families. When you are approved to receive food stamp benefits, those benefits are only valid for a specified period of time (the timeframe varies by case). Prior to the expiration of your benefits, you will receive a Notice of Expiration. If you fail to take action, after receiving the notice, your benefits will cease. To continue receiving benefits, you must become recertified. The recertification procedure is very similar to the original application procedure.

Instructions

1. Visit the Florida Department of Children and Families Access Florida web portal.

2. Click "Apply For Benefits." Click "Continue."

3. Click the radio button that is labeled, "My Access Account and Eligibility Reviews." Click "Continue."

4. Type your "My Access" username and password into the designated boxes. Click "Login." If you don't have a username and password, click the "Register Now" link to create one.

5. Click the option to "Complete a Recertification Review." A pre-populated application will appear that includes all of your household data, which was previously reported.

6. Review all of the populated data, such as household income, household size, assets and expenses. If any of the information is outdated, click "Update" to enter your current information.

7. Click the "Sign Now" button, when you reach the end of your application. Enter your name to electronically sign your name. You will see a confirmation page, indicating that your application has been successfully submitted to the DCF (Department of Children and Families) Access processing center.

8. Attend an interview with a caseworker, if required. In some cases, your interview will be completed over the phone. During the interview, you may be asked to provide documentation to prove total household income, assets, and expenses. You must also present a government-issued photo ID to prove your identity.

You will be notified by the DCF Access processing center whether or not you are required to attend an interview. You should receive this notification within 5 to 10 business days of submitting your recertification review.

9. Wait to receive a mailed notification indicating the status of your food stamps recertification application. It can take up to 30 days, from the date your application is submitted, for you to receive the mailed notification.
