Record A Beat On Pro Tools Le

The many iterations of the Pro Tools LE software give musicians and sound mixers the ability to record their own sound effects and beats. The program includes several beats with the installed software, but, virtuosos looking to make their own unique beat will need a microphone hooked up their Pro Tools LE software. The process generally only takes a few minutes to complete, particularly once you now create a track in the program.

Instructions

1. Open Pro Tools LE. You can record beats on an existing music file or create an entirely new one.

2. Choose "New" from the "Track" menu on the top toolbar. A small and long window will appear.

3. Select the number of microphones you will be recording with. Those using a single microphone will need to select "Mono Audio Track." Users with more than two microphones will need to select "2 Mono Audio Tracks."

4. Press "Create" to lay down the blank track on the music sheet. The window will disappear.

5. Click "Mix" from the "Window" menu on the top toolbar. The "Mix" window will appear.

6. Click the "R" button from the "Mix" window. Say some test phrases to test the volume and other incoming signals of the microphone. You can adjust them prior to beginning your recording session.

7. Press the space-bar to begin recording. A purple background will begin moving across the track signaling that the program is recording.

8. Play into the microphone. The beat will be recorded into the program.

9. Press the space-bar to stop recording. The beat is now recorded with Pro Tools LE.
