Run An Internal Employee Fundraising Campaign

Internal fundraising can help members of an organization raise money for a cause. in which they believe.


Rallying behind a cause can bring members of an organization closer together in addition to raising money for a good cause. When running an internal employee fundraising campaign, make sure to pick a cause that will garner widespread support. Avoid polarizing topics such as politics or religion, unless your organization has political or religious undertones. If you'd like, offer employees the ability to choose the charities to which they donate. Personal choice may help increase the amount of money you raise overall.


Instructions


1. Select a cause to support. You may wish to help save an endangered species, provide food for homeless families or raise money for cancer research, for example.


2. Establish a time frame for the fundraising campaign. You may want to run a yearlong campaign or just see how much you can raise in two months, for example.


3. Ask the person in charge of the office for permission to solicit from employees for the cause. Some businesses may not allow internal fundraising campaigns.


4. Pick a place to keep all the money you collect. For larger campaigns, you may want to open a special bank account. If you're fundraising in a small company, you can just keep personal records to track fundraising progress.


5. Inform fellow employees about the fundraising campaign by sending out a company-wide email or putting a notice in the company newsletter. Also hang flyers around the office and make an announcement during company meetings. In all promotional materials, include what the money raised from the campaign will be used for, how long the campaign will last and how people can donate money.


6. Track all the money as it comes in by keeping a running tab in an electronic file or notebook kept in a safe place. Write down the person's name, how much she donated and the date of the donation.


7. Keep co-workers informed about how much money the campaign has raised through emailed updates or announcements at office meetings.


8. Send out a final update after the campaign is completed. Let people know how much money they raised and what the money will help do. For example, maybe the office raised enough to purchase 30 new winter jackets for local needy students.
