Reset The Battery On A Timex Ironman T5e261

Working on your watch

The Timex Ironman T5E261 is a waterproof sports watch with various features like a stopwatch mode and a digital screen. These watches are designed for durability, but even though they are tough they can still malfunction from time to time. One way to fix a malfunctioning Ironman is by performing a reset on the internal battery. This is done when the watch freezes up and is a good way to get it working again. But even though resetting the battery is a good way to fix your watch's display, you have to disassemble it in order to access the battery. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Turn your Ironman over and use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the four small screws located on the corners of the back cover of the watch.

2. Insert the tip of your screwdriver in the seam between the back cover and the watch. Then remove the cover by simply lifting it off with the screwdriver. This will reveal a small sticker covering the circular silver battery. On this sticker there will be an arrow that points in the direction of the AC (All-Clear) pad. This is a small metal plate located next to the battery.

3. Touch the tip of your screwdriver to the AC pad and hold it for a couple of seconds. This is only to be done if you fully intend to reset the battery and the system. The AC pad should never be touched otherwise.

4. Replace the back battery cover and tighten the four screws on each of its corners. Verify that the watch is working by checking the main display. Your watch's battery is now reset and the system should be completely clear. You can now set the date and time on your Ironman.
