You can program your new Liftmaster garage door opener or reprogram an existing opener in seconds. Thanks to Liftmaster's universal programming methods, your garage door opener will be functioning at the push of a button with only a few easy steps.. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Programming with the "Learn" Button

1. Find the "Learn" button on the overhead garage door opener, which may be green, red, orange, purple or blue. This button will be near an LED indicator light and on the rear or right side of the opener. You may need to remove a plastic cover to find the button, but no tools are required to remove light bulb or control panel covers.

2. Press and release the "Learn" button. Look for a steady glow from the LED indicator light on the opener.

3. Press and hold the button on the remote control that you wish to program within 30 seconds. You have programmed it successfully when the main light bulb(s) in the opener flash and you hear two "clicks." Let go of the button on the remote control and push it again to test.

Programming with the multifunction door control

4. Press and hold the button on your hand-held remote that will operate your garage door opener.

5. Continue to hold the remote button and press and hold the "Light" button. The multifunction door control is the external push button control panel that is normally mounted on the garage wall.

6. Continue to hold both the remote button and light button and then press the large push bar on the multifunction door control. Hold all three buttons at the same time until the overhead opener unit lights blink. The blink of the lights lets you know your opener has been programmed. If you have not installed light bulbs, you will hear two clicks instead. Push the large bar on the multifunction door control to test.
