Raise Money For A Dance Team To Go To The Orange Bowl

The Orange Bowl, played each winter in a stadium near Miami, Florida, is one of the oldest college football bowl games. Its half-time show has garnered such celebrities as Jessica Simpson and Kelly Clarkson. Dance teams wanting to appear in the half-time show must raise thousands of dollars to cover hotel, food and travel expenses. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to raise the money.

Instructions

1. Have a bake sale. Have everyone on the dance team make something for the bake sale, and have relatives and friends donate baked goods as well. Ask everyone to use team colors when making their treats. Paint signs that say the proceeds are going to pay for your dance team's trip to the Orange Bowl.

2. Sell holiday items via catalog. Many companies specialize in providing catalogs for fundraising with no upfront costs. Your team earns a percentage of total sales. With some companies, you can earn as much as 50 percent of the sale price, and shipping is often free.

3. Have a crafts sale. Beaded and other jewelry items can be good sellers, particularly close to the holidays when people are looking for gifts. Consider selling items that are in your dance team's colors or in the colors for the Orange Bowl.

4. Have a car wash. Many people will stop by for a car wash when they know that their money is going for a good cause. Put up signs so people know your dance team is raising money to go to the Orange Bowl.

5. Have a yard sale. Yard sales work well because people like bargains, and when you have plenty of quality used items you can really make some good money.
