Reinforce The Soles Of House Slippers

The problem of worn-out house slipper soles, like so many of life's problems, is solved with a roll of duct tape. If you have a favorite pair of slippers and you're dreading the day you have to replace them because of over-worn soles, act now to reinforce them. It only takes a few minutes, and it can add years of wear to any pair. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Tear off several strips of duct tape that are each at least as long as the soles of your slippers. Three or four strips per slipper is sufficient.

2. Lay strips of duct tape side-by-side, lengthwise and sticky-side up so that they overlap slightly and stick together. The goal is to create two large, solid pieces of duct tape that are each at least as large as the surface area of each slipper's sole.

3. Carefully set each slipper, bottoms-down, onto the sticky sides of the tape after the two large rectangles of duct tape are finished. Set them down slowly to make sure that the entire bottom of each slipper is totally covered with the tape.

4. Set the slippers on a piece of cardboard. Use an X-acto knife or box cutter to carefully cut around the perimeter of each slipper's sole, trimming off all of the excess tape. The cardboard is just in place to keep you from cutting into the table or floor.

5. Run your hand firmly over the tape on the bottom of each slipper to seal it in place.
