Make Your Skateboarding Shoelaces Fit Inside The Shoe

Keep your shoelaces out of the way as you catch air.

For the hardcore skateboarder, an average pair of sneakers just won't cut it. Skateboarding footwear is designed to stand up to the wear and tear of the streets. Most shoes offer a thick, sturdy rubber sole, padded insole and synthetic or suede outer. Some models may be fitted with reinforced shoelaces, designed to resist the gradual rubbing of the board's grip tape. To prevent the laces from constantly coming untied, many boarders tuck theirs into the sides of their shoes.

Instructions

1. Tie the shoelaces as desired. To allow enough lace for proper tucking, avoid double knotting the laces unless they are extra long.

2. Pull gently on the looped end of the laces. This increases the length of the loop to allow for easier tucking.

3. Wedge the two loops into the sides of your shoes just beneath your ankles. Push them down as far as they will go with your fingers.

4. Push the laces forward in your shoe using a shoe horn. For comfort, try to avoid leaving the laces bunched up around your ankles, because this may irritate your feet as you skate.

5. Repeat for the other shoe. To untie your laces when you remove your shoes, simply pull on the protruding end of the lace.
