Since its debut in January 1952, NBC's The Today Show has become a morning news and entertainment staple for millions of American households. This four-hour show is known for a variety of breaking news, in-depth coverage of big news stories and fluffy entertainment pieces. "Today" moved to a new studio in 1994, affording its viewers an opportunity to see the show taped live through large plate-glass windows, as well as holding concerts and other events just outside the studio for the general public. While most people can't be in the actual studio during taping, you can see live performances almost every week presented by the familiar stars of the show.
Instructions
1. Search the Today Show website to find concert performers you want to see, if music is your aim in visiting the Today Show. Schedule your trip accordingly.
2. Make a large, bright poster if the show is scheduled to take a trip outside. Use an entire poster board and dark markers to create a clever, distinctive message. You are more likely to be noticed by the camera and producers if your sign stands out.
3. Get up early for your trip to the Today Show. The audience often begins to gather two to three hours before the show begins, depending on expected guests. Concert days and special events like Halloween are especially busy, so take that into account in your timing.
4. Go to 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza to view the show. Get close to the large glass window if you want to view the indoor show being filmed, or find a spot on the rope line if you prefer to wait for the outdoor entertainment, if there is any that day.
