Organize A Relay Racing Team

A relay race can be a very rewarding thing to accomplish, much like running a marathon or achieving any big goal that you have set forth and accomplished through a long journey. How you go about organizing a relay racing team depends on the goals you are trying to accomplish. We will show you find the right relay race for you and your team.

Instructions

1. Find out if any of your friends are interested in doing a relay race. Keep in mind that you should have people with similar fitness levels.

2. Make fliers to put around your local area to find more people who are interested, if you don't have enough team members. Recommended number of team members for most relay races is four to seven.

3. Consult a local gym or track coach for recommendations on training for the event. Who knows maybe they will want to work with you or be on the team?

4. Call your team together to find out what kind of relay race that you would like to take part in. Keep in mind this means deciding if you are going to take part in a local race or travel to another area.

5. Assign a team captain to take care of the registration information and to help set up a meeting and training schedule.

6. Check out to see if the relay race you chose is a part of a charitable organization or if they have a platform. If they don't, consider creating a platform for your team to raise money for.

7. Get a local business to sponsor your team. They could pay the team's registration fees, provide water or buy the team's shoes in exchange for the team members wearing something with their logo on it. Advertise in your local media what the team is raising money for and where people can donate.

8. Train hard and have a great time!
