Instructions
1. A sprint triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over a race distances of 750 m swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run. These distances are determined by the International Triathlon Union and USA Triathlon.
2. Join a triathlon training group with other individuals at your level to train and prepare for this event. Learn the needs for training and if you are prepared to do it. This will give you the social aspect of the event. Some organizations will let you train and raise money for various causes. Great motivators.
3. Read about the triathlon training on each discipline and set-up a training schedule to prepare for a sprint triathlon. Your local bike and triathlon stores are great resources for this type of information. They might even have professionals to help you train.
4. Once you are comfortable and prepared to train, sign-up for a sprint triathlon 3 months out. This will give you time to execute your training and get yourself focused with a goal in mind. Go out and train and practice all disciplines. It is not easy but you can do it.
