Plan A St Patrick'S Day Fundraising Dinner

St. Patrick's Day fund-raisers are fun and interesting.

Fund-raisers are designed to bring in money for specific reasons, such as fixing a building, helping orphans in various areas around the world, schools, or any other nonprofit that needs money to run. St. Patrick's Day dinners can end up raising funds for any group. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Determine the number of people coming to the fund-raiser. Have individuals call beforehand or sell tickets to the dinner to find out the appropriate-sized location and number of seats to plan for. This also raises some of the funds for the event. Charge $5 or $10 for the meal per person.

2. Plan the meal. Select traditional Irish foods, like mashed potatoes and corned beef. Determine which beverages to include in the meal, such as green lemonade. Alcohol is optional, but a good option for St. Patrick's Day because it is traditionally a holiday for drinking. According to Fundraiser Insight, St. Patrick's Day is often celebrated with "...drinking, and merry making" so alcoholic beverages are appropriate for the fund-raiser.

3. Determine entertainment. Entertainment can range between traditional games to kissing the blarney stone to raffles. If the fund-raiser can afford it, hire traditional dancers or entertainers for the event. If not, put in an Irish music CD and open up a dance floor for guests.

4. Make games with prizes. Games with prizes include games like looking for lucky shamrocks or popping green balloons with pieces of paper or prizes in them. Fundraiser Insight suggests charging for the games and having a prize set beforehand.

5. Pick prizes. Prizes can range from gift cards to gift baskets to Irish-themed DVDs and CDs. Have a wide range for the diverse individuals that might join the fund-raiser.
