Situated in the back left hand corner of the park, Hollywood Studios' Streets of America houses three of the park's major attractions. Whether you want to make friends with the Muppets, check out some car racing or tour the studios' backlot, the Streets of America provides a multitude of options for visitors to enjoy during their time at the Studios.
Instructions
1. Take in Muppet Vision 3-D. Don 3-D glasses and let the beloved Muppets make you laugh in this continuously shown 25-minute show. This show rarely has a lengthy wait time at various times during the day and it's a great way to beat the heat (or a sudden Florida rain storm) in the height of the afternoon.
2. Tour the backlot. The Studio Backlot Tour provides guests with a 35-minute walking/tram tour through the behind the scenes area of the studios. See props used in Disney movies, take a picture of the Earful Tower and learn how certain elements of film are shot and put on the big screen. Tours are continuous, and lines are never usually too brutal even at the most crowded times of the day.
3. Check out the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. See up close how automobile stunts are done for Hollywood blockbuster films and even get a glimpse of Herby the Lovebug. Be sure to check the Times Guide insert in your park map for showtimes, and arrive early as the theater often fills up very quickly.
4. Let kids run around in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. This larger-than-life playground is based on the 1989 film and allows kids to adventure through the Szalinski's backyard just as the kids in the movie did.
5. Consider fulfilling a snack craving while on the Streets of America. If Italian's what you crave, the Toy Story Pizza Planet Arcade serves pizza and salads and Mama' Melrose's Ristorante Italiano offers brick oven pizza, pasta, seafood, chicken and steak. For lighter fare, the Studio Catering Co. provides a variety of sandwiches, salads and desserts.
